ABSC's indoor winter futsal program provides players the opportunity to sharpen foot skills, improve game decision-making ability, and stay fit during the off-season. Sessions are led by trained, professional coaches (no parent volunteer coaches).

WHAT IS FUTSAL?

• FIFA's official scaled-down version of outdoor soccer played indoors.

• Small-sided games (5v5) played with a smaller, low-bounce ball.
• The low-bounce ball forces players to use their skill rather than the ball’s bounce for propulsion.
• Played with touchline boundaries. There are no walls in play.

• FORMAT

Players born 2020 (U6) and older 

• • Girl and Boy teams of 5-8 players
  • 5v5 small-sided games, with goalie
  • 30-minute skills warmup 
  • 20-minute halves with a 5-minute break (45 min total)

(Players born 2020 through 2022 (U4/U5) will sign up for co-ed  First Touch Academy)

ADDITIONAL INFO

• • Games played in local gyms
  • Sat / Sun games only (no weekday practice)
  • No parent coaches

  WHAT TO WEAR
•  

ABSC U6-U1- Recreational: No uniforms sales. Wear ABSC reversible jersey, ABSC practice shirt, or any blue/yellow t-shirt
ABSC Competitive Teams: Coordinate with your coach and/or team manager for uniform 

All PLAYERS

• • Shin guards are required for all players
  • Comfortable sports clothes or soccer uniform
    
  • Wear socks that cover the shinguards
  • NO cleats indoors - only sneakers, trainers, or indoor soccer shoes
  • Bring a water bottle. No other drinks or food allowed in the gym

KEY DATES

Registration 

• • Early bird registration ends November 6th
  • Late fee begins December 8th
• • Registration closes December 16th (limited space available after 12/16/25)

• • Rosters and schedules posted mid–late December
• • Schedules can be found at www.abscsoccer.org under “Schedules”
• • First games: weekend of January 3rd/4th 
• • Last games: weekend of February 21st/22nd
• • Games will be held on Presidents’ Day Weekend
